Bootcamp!
The storytelling boot camp has started and all the amateur and weak will come out as narrators and story tellers by the end of the workshop on 17th October.
Five days of back to back story telling theory and "mini" projects based on the theme of "Treasure" will take us through different ways and techniques of story telling and the acquired skills will be shown off at the Story Telling expo on the last day of the boot camp.
Day 1:
The first day required us to go through a theory session about different kinds of stories, tales, sagas, etc. before we started to learn about the difference between the roles of a narrator and a story teller. How the sequence of a story is distorted to create interest because its not just about making stories its about making interesting stories.

Quotes guess game
We were given quotes from different movies, cartoons, famous poets, writers and public figures and we had to guess the name of the person who said that quote. For example -
"Mr Wilson" in a strikingly familiar sound was easily recognized as a popular quote from the cartoon series called Denis the Mennis.
"Tum mujhe khoon do, mein tumhe adaazi dunga" was a famous quote by Subash Chandra Bose.
Letter to self
The small exercise made the campers imagine themselves as the 60 year old version of themselves and to write a letter to the current self. The exercise made us imagine a complete different version of ourselves that we have no relevant clue or information about. This was an interesting exercise as a warm up for upcoming creative exercises.Story types and uses
Different story types were discussed along with their individual characteristics and their uses in brief.Introduction to story pitch
